Red Chair = Win

Monday, August 31st, 2009

It’s official. Every dog looks good on the red chair.

Two more case studies support my claim:

That’s Jax the puggle working the chair.

And meet “Phil” (so named by his young person) the slightly overwhelmed but still game to pose new puppy:

Think your dog doesn’t look good in/on red? Bring him in and the LOTL pose-o-matic red chair will prove you wrong!

Huh? What’s this?

Kitteh!

Meet LOTL’s one and only in-store feline customer, the delicious Raleigh St. Claire. Seven weeks old and ready to explore:

Raleigh thought that my teeny take-a-penny bowl worked just fine as a food dish:

I can haz dog fud?

Feeling Blue?

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

I met sweet Blue about 3 weeks ago, the first weekend his people brought him home. He was out of it during the visit, which is to be expected. New people, new sights, new smells, new world - it’s overwhelming for a wee pup.

Blue was equally out of it the second time he visited … and the third … and I was worried. Where was the puppy in this puppy? Was he sick?

Blue stopped by yesterday and I’m happy to report that he was finally rarin’ to go. Play? Sure! Treats? Why yes, please. And I finally got to see the reason for his name … check out those eyes:

Blue and his little girl Lola had some fun (?) dancing around the store (with Mom supervising close by, of course):

Can’t tell you how relieved I was to see Blue in action. Nice to finally meet you, little one!

Family Portrait

I was back at Pet Fashion Week on Sunday (Meh – it was terrible compared to last year!), and look who greeted me when I arrived at the store:

A family of 14-week old Chinese Cresteds! They were decked out in sparkly duds (kind of appropriate since I’d just been at PFW), but their person stripped them down so I could see their nekkid glory:

I don’t know about y’all, but I dig them!

Not Happy

“Uh, do you really think that you should be carrying this stuff?”

A customer called my attention to the Eagles bandannas and collars on the shelf, and I had a massive “Duh!” moment. A dog store … Eagles … Vick … how did I miss that?

I can’t tell you how bummed I was when I heard that Vick not only got signed, but that he got signed in my new back yard. Word on the street around here is divided. Some folks have lost their faith in a team that backs a convicted animal abuser (”Abuse” doesn’t sound strong enough, does it?), while other people (dog people, mind you) “just want a championship.”

Needless to say, our Eagles merch is going back.
