Toy of the Week

Each week it seems there’s a new “toy of interest” here at LOTL. Last week it was the cool stuffing-free toys (the fox toys sold out first, followed by the bunnies, then the raccoons, and the skunks came in dead last. I think people have a subliminal dislike of skunk stuff. I happen to think they’re cool!)

Anyway, here’s the winner for this week:

The super-tough treat dispensing pyramid. It’s a great way to keep dogs constructively occupied – you fill it with treats, or just use plain old kibble, and then let Fido bat and nose it all around the house to get the goodies to come out. (Want to make your dog work for his supper? Put the whole meal in the pyramid!)

The dogs of D’town have been all over it for the past few days … and one special visitor had a blast with it as well:

Willow and her person, Penelope Brown, dog trainer extraordinaire and my dear friend, made the trip up from DC to see me! Willow stayed busy with the toy while Pen and I caught up:

It wore her out:

My new friends Ray (l) and Dotte stopped in today and picked up a blue pyramid for Ray’s second Birthday.

Happy Birthday, big guy – enjoy it, and don’t forget to share!

What Victoria calls “catching up” Pen calls “shopping”. I bought out the store just about.
Shelby, the boxer, *loved* the “rita” ball, Lola, the “malti-shih” liked the ice cream cone alright but her person, smiled so that made me happy,
the flattened skunk (still making me think of Loudon Wainright III) and the Huckster almost started a war at my house so I had to put them away until the “guests” go home.
Willow is happily squeaking (somebody get me some earplugs) the fuzzy ball as I predicted.
We had a great time at LOTL! thanks, Vic!

I won’t have Allie with me (still working on her car issues, but we *are* progressing), but I can’t wait to see Vic’s store tomorrow!

Love Willow’s neck fur, forward concentrating ears and determined mouth.

Athena would LOVE the pyramid. We should come up for a road trip (”road triiip!”) sometime.

Stuffing free toys?! I’m soooo interested. I’m so tired of picking up stuffing shrapnel all over the house.
