Book Party!

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

I’m having a little book release party this Thursday night … wanna come?

It’s Thursday the 14th from 5:00 – 8:00 at Wylie Wagg in Tysons Corner. It’s not a formal book signing or reading or anything like that … I just wanted to invite my favorite dogs and their people to come hang out for a few hours. (Yes, dog-friendly dogs are welcome!)

Hope to see you there!

“May you live in interesting times.”

That old Chinese curse keeps running through my mind. Seems I’m up to my eyeballs in “interesting times” right now, hence the infrequent posting. I thought I’d be able to post a state of the union last Friday, but the state of the union is in daily flux.

I’ll spill the details once everything is sorted out. In the meantime, let’s all look at some new pictures of Burger and feel happy:

Four months can pack a lot of dog on a dog:

I got to visit with Ceilie last week (when my back pain was just an annoyance), and though she’s a lot bigger, she’s just as cute:

Oh – the coffee table? It’s now a Ceilie table:

Ow, ow, ow.

Back pain – I gots it.

I injured my back at the gym 2 weeks ago (many of my clients have had to deal with a grumpier, less mobile me in recent days) and this morning I nearly did myself in. I was changing my clothing and I reached for something, only to find myself in such excruciating pain that I fell face down, pantsless, on the bed.

I’ve spent the day at the doctor and the chiropractor … the chiro asked me to lie down on a low bench and the pain of attempting it wrenched me so badly that I almost threw up. Full-on pain-induced nausea. Bad.

So I’m “here” in a sense, but on some heavy pain meds. (Which aren’t helping at all so far.) I hope to be back to be feeling a little more normal tomorrow …. in the meantime, it’s agony.
