Land, Ho!

I worked with Cody a while back to help him learn to be more neighborly with the dogs in his ‘hood … we had a pressing reason for the etiquette lesson: Cody was getting ready to move to England!

Cody had quite an adventure making his way to his new home … rather than sticking him in a crate in the cargo hold of an airplane for umpteen hours, his people decided to book him a ticket on the QM2!

Now that’s travelling in style!

(I love how the bulldog is catching some rays!)

Hi, Ali. I’m one of Cody’s people. Cody is all beagle. Apparently, he was bred for the show ring, but because of a couple of teensy imperfections, we got him instead (and boy are we happy about that.) He’s just turned five, and seems to be loving England.

As you can see, Cody had a pretty good time on his crossing. There were six dogs and three cats on our voyage. Although this was a great alternative to air travel for us, it was not without stress for the animals. They have to sleep locked up in the kennel and are around new animals and people. It was pretty tense on the first day, but by the end of the cruise they all were pretty good friends. Everyone who brought their pet on board was moving to Europe - I would not recommend this for a vacation with your pet (also there’s a lot of required paperwork for export and import of pets which is the same regardless of your means of travel).
